Touring advice

Postby siwickm » Thu Jan 18, 2007 2:44 pm

I have a mate who is intending to cycle from Scotland to Surrey. He wants to find a route and wanted to know if there was something that he could use to help him do this on the internet.

Any ideas?

Cheers

There is an Audax ride called the London-Edinburgh-London. He might be able to Google that and see if he could use the route from Edinburgh to London (if he can find it) and add a bit on. The route as with most Audax is mainly quiet country roads.

He should have a look at the Sustrans site - they will have route recommendations for most of his ride.

It's not a mate is it? It's you. You've given up racing to tour instead. I knew it would come to this!

Advice on how to fit a pannier rack to a race bike much appreciated. Do you think that Mavic Cosmic Carbonnes go well with a pannier racked bike and are they good for long distance rides?

Cheers

Go for full disc on the back, that way you're in no danger of the pannier straps interfering with the spokes.
