This judges ruling about damge to Cofidis' image raises a few interesting questions.

So what is this judge actually saying to Cofidis ?

You are an established cycle team,
you are well aware of the doping problems in the sport,
you did not take sufficient measures to stop illegal drug use within your own team

therefore your company name deserves to be dragged through the drugs gutter.

What does this say about the official UCI controls which are supposed to stop illegal drug use and create a level playing field for all teams?

How can the sport survive if the commercial teams are expected to self-regulate themselves, and possibly regulate themselves off the winning podium in the process?

How many potential sponsors will see this and decide it's not worth the risk getting involved?

I'm still drawn to the pro cycling but it just seems to become more of a circus and less of a sport every year.

Unfortunately the UCI seem happy for this to be the case, but then they've always tended to concern themselves with various minutei (sp?) while ignoring any big or serious issues.
I hoped what T-Mobile are doing would kick start something, but others have been notable by their lack of support and desire to follow their lead.

With a name like Bogus law, the physio didn't stand a chance in court.

In his comments about Cofidis is the judge not saying 'Everyone knows it goes on, and everyone knows the controls are ineffective'? If so (and they may have been mangled in translation), his observations might be seen as a swipe at the UCI too.
