How did it go today Andrew?
There seemed to be loads of riders out today- good weather certainly bought out the mossies
.
Marek and a few chums came and joined us for a few miles then shot off leaving us to enjoy a somewhat more leisurely pace. We saw lots of riders out along the way, a good sized peloton from the paragon and a huge one that Marek and his mates had got involved with, luckily they were going the opposite way. Pretty blustery out there as well so any solo riding would be hard work- didnt seem to affect Huw tho.
Joanna finally blew to pieces in Blindley Heath so I sent the others on so they did not get cold or wet as it looked fairly stormy but it never rained and came out sunny again. I found it quite amusing watching Joanna try her hardest and really push those pedals but there was nothing in the legs at all- even after a flapjack the tank was still empty so it was a slow ride home with us both laughing at her efforts up the hills home. I am sure most people have been in that state before- once when out with Marek and Dave Findlay( remember him
) i left them after an 80 mile ride and rode the last few k home, i was all over the place, talking to myself, wobbling along any time i came to an incline i had to dig in and force myself to stay on the bike as it was almost certainly quicker to walk.
