hillingdon 20th jan..

Postby Stu Merckx Man » Sat Jan 20, 2007 4:42 pm

bit of a disaster this week. everything was going fine, bit faster than last week and a lot of people dropping out, due to about 3 riders at the front caining it on the hills, and on down hills making it difficult to recover.

i felt tired but ok and stayed in the middle of the pack of only about 16 at that point (if that!). i was fine with this as in my mind it would make it easier in the sprint.

anyways, 5 laps to go and as we got to the first bunch of corners i was on the outside and the bloak on the inside of me swerved into me, i then swerved outwards and onto the muddy stoney edge of the track and got a puncture    ...but never mind.

i was suprised by the average speed though (before my puncture) 25mph!

ill be out on the clubrun next week as i want to get some more training in. so ill probably be racing the week after...

cheers,
stu

Bad luck, but at least both you and your bike are fine so no harm done. Elbow sharpening to be done for next time out.

:!: :!: :!:

[quote]Before the start the riders were offered a new energy product called ‘Relentless’ by winter series rider Mario Manelfi. Whether Paul Pickup had tasted it or not his ride was scintillating; only Roger Hammond did what Paul managed to achieve today by riding away on his own lapping the entire field and riding through the main group to the chase group and splitting them. Some riders were unhappy with his tactics as they were slightly questionable, but that’s bike racing.

Can that little kiddie who came second see where he is going, Ian, surely he is wearing your helmet, it looks big enough.

Cheers
