Not doing this Sunday's Reliability Ride, but...

If anyone wants to join me I'll be starting from Selsdon lights at 10.

Steady pace, no cafe stop, back for lunch.

Out to Westerham, then Polhill via Pilgrims Way, return to Coney Hall via Halstead - about 35 miles rolling roads with a couple of hills.

Not to mention those surgeon's masks. Or didn't they survive the move from Cold Blow Lane?

How did it go today Andrew?
There seemed to be loads of riders out today- good weather certainly bought out the mossies  .
Marek and a few chums came and joined us for a few miles then shot off leaving us to enjoy a somewhat more leisurely pace. We saw lots of riders out along the way, a good sized peloton from the paragon and a huge one that Marek and his mates had got involved with, luckily they were going the opposite way. Pretty blustery out there as well so any solo riding would be hard work- didnt seem to affect Huw tho.
Joanna finally blew to pieces in Blindley Heath so I sent the others on so they did not get cold or wet as it looked fairly stormy but it never rained and came out sunny again. I found it quite amusing watching Joanna try her hardest and really push those pedals but there was nothing in the legs at all- even after a flapjack the tank was still empty so it was a slow ride home with us both laughing at her efforts up the hills home. I am sure most people have been in that state before- once when out with Marek and Dave Findlay( remember him  ) i left them after an 80 mile ride and rode the last few k home, i was all over the place, talking to myself, wobbling along any time i came to an incline i had to dig in and force myself to stay on the bike as it was almost certainly quicker to walk.

Well the mosquito boys and Paul and Sylv gave me a good kicking today up Crockham. I blew before we even got to the bottom. My legs were like lead today. Think I need to up the hard training sessions and stop eating so much. I don't think the run I did on Friday helped, heart and lungs felt fine, just the legs would not create any power up the hills.

Good to see you out, loads of riders in the lanes it was like being in France, especially with Monsier Sylv close at hand.

Cheers

Marek...

So technically that equates to only one lap.

[quote]Dr Toks. I did 2 CW, then broke for dos bananas then did 2 more ACW then finished off with one more CW. Feel really good now.

It takes about 11 miles to get there from Penge. So a good mix of circuits of RP and getting there & back.
Cool, I just wanted to know if you went up that short sharp brute of a climb. I always feel sorry for riders coming up it when I'm flying down it in the opposite direction. :) You'll be glad to know that it feels exactly the same no matter how fit you get...By the way Slv just how badly did Marek suffer today?

Well I never noticed anything until we hit the two long hills up to Westerham, I got dropped by the three others and Marek was behind. But it was probably only his cassette or mudguards rubbing or something.

I had enough after the café stop where we met Tony Kelly, and took the short way back to Croydon - 80 hard miles yesterday, not even the two rock-cakes I had there got my legs ready for more suffering.
