<Raises>

I'll be up for that, assuming I'm not in Colorado guiding.

Addiscombe car pool/road trip with stops at Glentress, etc on the way up/down and an outing for the banner at the campsite?

Marco: yes even at national level.

We definitely should try a road trip.

How much would a competitive bike cost?

It isn't about the bike.

No it really isn't.

Some of it is related to prowess in alcohol consupmtion.
The winner one year was decided by go Kart race.

The way to do it really is bodge a bike from begged stolen borrowed and left over bits.

The more mongrel the better.

Any hard tail MTB can be used as a starting point. Sylvain and I do not use suspension at all.

And Paul I can swear you won't be smirked at (as with roadies) if your armwarmers clash with your top or your shorts are a bit scruffy

The more clashing the better.
If you have old day glo Axo shorts or a favourite summer dress this is an ideal time to get some extra wear out of them.

I shall try knocking something up. I havnt even got a MTB at the moment. I have a fixed speed racer which I never use - perhaps I shall sell/swap that.

I have

2 pairs of V brakes
several tubeless tyres.
3 saddles
some servicable square taper bottom brackets

If you want to cobble something together.

Ridgeback now do an inexpensive off the peg singlespeed:

I have some square taper chainsets that'll work.

And a Hope mini hydraulic disc front brake

And some tyres

And stems

And handlebars

And grips

 And this is AFTER the successful sales at the bring and buy evening.
