Hillingdon 0302

Got there in time to see Aodan grab 4th in the 4th cat race sprint, thus getting nearer to 3rd cat status.

Had a quick chat on his warm-down lap, so started the race right at the back of the huge field. Blimey it was hairy, sudden braking, people jumping out of line. Took a few laps to move up, but didn't want to do much work as racing tomorrow too (as is Aodan). Took just three stints at the front, each of them bringing me almost to the back of the field :?

A lot less windy today, with the headwind up the climb - AVS 42.3/26.3 for 1h20 8) . A couple really strong girls doing their share of work (one of them 16th in the MTB World Champs, 2nd Commonwealth Games - how cool is it to be racing amongst such talent!). Was feeling good for the bunch sprint, got what I thought was a decent position, but half-way up the climb had to freewheel as I was trapped between riders (think I even had to brake ...). Got a late escape on the right, but still had some power in the legs crossing the line, a bit frustrating. Got 15th 3rd 3rd..

A good day out, think I did more than the clubrunners, over 150k 8)

Just two so far B-R-A-D-L-Y, should have another two from yesterday. Long way to forty!

Doing just one more at Hillingdon, then the acc race in March.

 My name is George Hincapie today!...I can't wait till the ACC race. I think if George, Paul, Dave. K, Stu, Me, Marek, Tim, Phil and you can force a breakaway I think we might get some ACC guys- both current an ex's - in the top ten. But its gonna be really tough. They'll be some really strong 2nd cats in the race or sandbagger's as I like to call em

Yeh I'm tempted to do one of those 3rd-only Surrey Leagues first.

Are you 3rd now Stu then? That acc race is 31st March.

Ill be there, 1st race of the season though, so itll be touch and go if im good for a break though...

Feel good atm, and still over 7weeks to train so its all good, at the moment anyway.

Could someone put a map up of the circuit so i can check it out before?

I cant work it out from the surrey league website...

So heres a question, will you mosquito boys let an ACCer win if were in a break together, or will it be a shake of the hand and may the best man win!? Hows that for a test of loyalty!?

I watched overcoming last night and one of the bits that hit me the most was how angry Jens Voight got at the german reaction to him chasing down Ullrich in the '04 tour... I have to say i felt sorry for him, he seems like such a great bloke.

You must be having a...    : Unless of course you were the sole undisputed, unambiguous driver of the breakaway and I had been hanging on for dear life, then yeah sure I think we could come to some arrangement

I like the idea of working together for the mutual benefit of all and we should discuss tactics beforehand. Perhaps something like get Marek on the front of the bunch to soften people up, then George and Myself attack at the same time Stuart falls off behind us so we get a gap. Then the rest of the Mosquito team holds up the bunch.

Somehow I have managed to get 5 pts on my 3rd CAT licence and am ranked 2nd in the South East.

Sylvain in 5th as well, good to see some Addiscombe domination.

Paul, could you have scored points as a 3rd cat in the Hillingdon 4th cat race, once you'd already got your 10 points? Would seem odd but hey, don't give 'em back :) .

And ill sit behind you all, wait for the break to be reeled in by the dynamos, then unleash my sprint and sneak in for a crafty win...

Am i right in saying is a Regional B Road race as well, which means 15points for the win?
