These are subject to availability so I decided to book it anyway just in case the offer ran out.

I have the 0930 crossing, on saturdat 23rd June needing to be there 45 minutes ahead of embarkation with the 18.30 return which is actually 19.30 - it seemed to make reasonable sense giving a long enough day with time for a ride plus a good lunch, and not getting home too late. The crossing is around 90 minutes each way so I will drive and park.

Decided to get in early as well, just in case.

Also booked for 23rd June, same 0930 (UK Time) ferry out. Your return ferry has already sold out Alan, so I'm on the 21:00 (French time so still back in blighty at 21:30). Unfortunately that means I shall have to put up with french food and wine for my dinner as well.

If you are interested might be worth calling and booking now to make sure you don't lose out on a freebie. You can change travel times after booking, so can always change your times later on (subject to a space on the ferry you want).

Andrew - the thought of leaving you to your own devices is a foreign country is distressing but, I will have only returned from my camino de santiago across Northern Spain the previous weekend so I need to be a tad judicious, so better had not change the crossing times - but anyway the nice lady told me I couldn't change the times/dates.

Sean, I was thinking of getting the train to and from Dover. Never done it before so need to look in to feasability/cost, but I'm not sure I fancy a long drive home after cycling/eating/drinking all day. That's not taking any parking costs in to consideration.

I'll let you and others know when I've had a look at the times/cost.

Does anyone have a bike trailer for carrying the beer and wine home?

Is anybody else going to France for the day on the 23rd June?

I've had a look at the trains and they aren't really an option (mainly for getting there in time - only one option and 2 changes), so I'll be driving. I only have room for one other person plus bike only though I'm afraid, sorry.

The only way I could do 3 is by putting the bikes on the roof. I'm not overly keen on putting my pride on joy up there, and I don't have a roof rack/cycle carrier so would have to find one to borrow anyway.
