Adam does London - Paris...

Postby -Adam- » Tue Jan 16, 2007 8:45 pm

From July 25th to the 29th i am going to ride from London - Paris for Action Medical Research...

Who are the UK's most forward thinking charity, and their vision is to work towards a future free from disease and disability. They work with the country's top researchers and to create a healthier future for you, your children and your childrens children.

Their most notable achievements to date include:
> crippling polio in the UK
> they were at the birth of ultrasound scanning
> they also helped to get hip replacements up and running

They are currently working on many projects including:
> premature births
> migraines
> strokes
> asthma
> dyspraxia
> parkinson's
> osteoporosis
> cerebral palsy
> spinal injuries
> epilepsy
> motor neurone disease
> chron's disease
> bronchiolitus
> alzheimer's

...And many many more!

The route is about 300miles, ridden in 4 days. Getting me to Paris on the saturday just before the tour arrives on the sunday.

I have to raise a thousand pounds minimum, of which i have managed to secure pledges for just over £800 in the last week. Due to seemingly catching everyone on a good day in the office where i was working over xmas, plus my other job at the hotel and family etc. So the agreeables was the next logical port of call!

Unfortuately i am now back at uni so wont be around on the clubruns for a while, so cant badger people face to face in the cafe...

...however, please click http://www.action.org.uk/~adamjcotterell
to sponsor me online.

I believe the ride is not yet full so if anyone else fancies the challenge, go for it!

I look forward to seeing my total steadily rise, so please sponsor me!!!

Thanks,

Adam

Anyway, speaking to some of you on saturday suggested that you missed this post and it rapidly sank to the depths of the forum...

So here it is again, and please, be generous!!!

Thank you,

Adam

I am the tall Simon on the suitably large Trek 1400. And I can be found in the "social group". Or if I am feeling up to it the easy 17's. I need to put in a bit of work when I get back from Oz mid April.

I wouldn't say my legs are Hulk like maybe She-Hulk like but then again her legs are still pretty buff

Yes, and I am thinking of going late morning. It should be interesting, and it will be a chance to meet some of the other riders before hand.

Shame I won't be able to squeeze the club run in too. Besides I need to get my bike fixed first, as I broke my LH shifter last Saturday. I could use a second bike, pity I am a bit strapped.

I think I will go for about 2:30ish after all. So I will probably see you up there, not that I can put your name to a face...

My bike is still OOC
