Fantastic Effort Andrew you may actually be fitter than what you realised. I hope you keep it going and don't dissapear forever like a few ACC early startERS from previous yearS.... Re Palace Everyone gets dropped at the beginning except Matt I thinK. I know 2nd and 3rd cats who can place on some some circuits but wouldn't touch CP with a 10ft you know what. I'd say get yourself as fit as you can (training group rides would help).

Learning to position yourself well (in the middle) rather than the back. At the back its actually harder because you're continually sprinting to latch back on. Its important to mentally relax although CP still requires a high level of fitness

Just go for it and ride it regularly. If you do a 'once every few weeks job' you'll never get a bunch finish. I think Guy from Dulwich Paragon rode it from April onwards and got his first bunch finish in August. I reckon you'll get to grips with it much quicker than that. I'll look forward to seeing you up there :)

PS wELL DONE gEORGE. yOU'LL BE WINNING AGAIN SOON i THINK ITS JUST ABOUT TACTICS

 Shucks, thanks for the kind words chaps. I won't be racing all the time Toks, but don't worry I won't disappear it was too much fun.

You were ahead of me Stu so you must have been 7th, don't know who your doppelganger is?

Top marks to Paul as well who was the only one to train/ride over to the race. I did not envy you the same journey home after the race in that weather.

[quote]What are you having for breakfast Andrew?

Nothing special, promise.
I think it's a combination of some fixed riding over winter, starting to ride to and from work (14 miles each way) a couple of days a week, and just riding with quicker riders. All a bit old school really but it seems to have worked. Also covered just under 1,000 miles this year as opposed to about 400 at the same stage last year, so that can't have done any harm.

Meet George, the Addiscombe Fonz! :D
Quality, looks like it's a walk in the park while the bloke on your wheel has the thousand yard stare.
