TDF advert, im gonna be a star!!!

Postby -Adam- » Tue Mar 06, 2007 5:38 pm

Hey hey everyone,

so remember those hardcore among us who turned up one rainy morning in feb, to be photographed by the casting lady for the TDF ad...

well i had an email from her today asking me to go along, so bring it on i said!

heres my shot a fame i thought!

only trouble is i cant wear yellow, so the acc jersey is out of the question.

but i get £65 for my troubles, so that'll go towards the zipps

was thinking of wearing my sigma sport kit, and seeing if they'll give me any more money for advertising them too! or at least a discount on the old zipps!

anyways, just wondered if any other agreeables had made the cut?

cheers,

adam

I'm in - but a bit dis-chuffed by the 'no yellow' (ie 'no ACC kit') rule. I might have to drag out the red and white - which in turn means using the ultra-retro red and white bike 8) .

Or maybe I'll use the fixie, grow a goatee and go as a courier :).

Yeah me too.

Actually they called my Mrs because they had her picture taken too, she then said that she would only go if I could come with her. How cool is that!

I believe that I am to join the merry band as well - I don't have any times yet but I presume a group ride to wherever it is happening makes sense?

 What can I say, wave money at me and I come running. To assuage the shame I shall look upon it as a free bike bag Ian  .

I choose and use my words selectively Ian because there is so much that is absolute piffle - nothing to say? - say nothing I say!!!

But........ sisnce you asked ......

today, got up as usual, had some breakfast, toast and apricot jam, looked at some emails and web sites, planned my day. Saw it was raining, decided not to go cycling, went to the gym instead and did one 10 min threshold interspersed with a couple of 5 minute peaks and some treadmill stuff followed by a 45 minute spinning session being shouted at constantly to crap music - highly motivating. Rode home, had lunch, bacon and egg sandwich - very good bacon without hardly any water content, then went to the post office - it was sunny so rode the Wandsworth Bridge Road and saw an exhibition of Guatemala textiles from chichicastenango, chatted to the curator guy who let me bring my bike in for safe keeping and watched a video for 13 minutes - didn't buy anything though then I went across the road to a Starbucks and a man asked me, in spanish, if I spoke any spanish. I said si and it turned out he was a migrant worker from Almeria http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Almer%C3%ADa_(province) and wanted 50p but I gave him a pound because his request surprised me. Had my coffee and read the copy of the Independent picked up for free in the gym, noticed the sun setting and set off home but it got dark quickly - fixed my back light in Mitcham but didn't have a front one so felt caught out by the quickly arriving darkness. Got home at 7 cooked a meal, curried chicken, watched some TV and checked the forums - and here we are Ian and I hope that you're sorry now!!

Still - no paragraphs

I think you would need to be quite vain to start a blog, not that I think my life is uninteresting, at least to me - but, always supposing you have read to the end of this, I think it may be time for you to reevaluate yours!!

take care

well, that was quite a bit to get up to in one day, almost makes me think i should be doing more.

but then i realise i am a student, and its in my job description to be lazy. theres plenty of time to work hard later.

a wise man once told me:

''don't put off 'til tomorow, what can be put off 'til the day after...''

and since that day i have done my best to uphold this ideal. with the noticable exception of working my ass off on my beloved bicycle!

getting to town, for an 'early' start on saturday is not my cup of tea, but i guess ill survive!

Well Toks, I didn't for one minute imagine that my baited hook would reel me in a live one, but hey.

No I don't have a blog - I do have a redundant my space, a public Flickr site and I have just started a wikispace which I am going to use to develop a spanish/english conversation club.

Actuallly in blogs i think there is something to distinguish between those like yourself who have a story to tell that can be of interest to others and others who simply lay bare their less than interesting lives to the gaze of the prurient and bored - but I have quite strong views on reality TV as well, so probably best to disregard my humble opinions!!

well Sean ...... and then you die

I have offered myself for Friday but I believe that I may be discriminated against on account of my youthfulness and good looks.
