Ahoy there mateys. Being a pirate and all that, I'm always on the lookout fer treasure, arrrr. Spotted these old Addiscombe dubloons fer sale on dhat dhere ebay.

So I'm wonderin' does the club ever acquire its own history like? I'll keep an eye on 'em. No bids at the mo - they're listed at £14.95, pieces of 8, polly wants a cracker and all that gubbins!

oo-arr snoopster, good spot.

I've asked the seller if they are engraved and if so with what, names etc.

I'll let you know what they say.

Cheers,

Andrew.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Anyway, on the subject of ACC history type stuff, Chris Watts is beavering away at writing the definitive club history, and is up to about 1994. Available soon from all good bookshops as they say.

And if anyone fancies a crack at some club records, here are all the current tricycle records held by Sid:

25 miles 1.08.43 (1961)
30 miles 1.24.00 (1948)
50 miles 2.20.50 (1948)
100 miles 5.05.56 (1960)
12 hours 216.38 (1948)

Hi All,

I think these should be aquired for the club, they are part of the club history!

As treasurer I am quite happy to bid for them on behalf of the club.

Phil Nash.

PS. PLEASE NO OTHER BIDDERS FROM THE CLUB!!!!!!

I picked up a set of these even before I joined Addiscombe. It was fate, I tell you! The full set of 50 cost around £20 as I recall.

folks - these medals have a bid. Does anyone here have the user ID of bill8330a on ebay..? Looking at their previous purchases they seem to have a general interest in Croydon history.

Arrrr, as previously suggested I WON'T be bidding fer these dubloons, just wanted to keep this in view.......pieces of eight!

I Dont want to bump up the price yet!

I will be bidding for them for the club(up to a reasonable amount), before the auction closes.
