Will there be a peleton heading up from Croydon? If so, can someone drop me a pm with the proposed route to Southwark so I can hitch up along the way?

I'm cycling up Mike (get the train to a cycling shoot - tut, tut  ).

Not sure which route yet, I'll see who else is going up first, but I'll let you know tomorrow.

Cheers,

Andrew.

Mmmmm... a bit too early for me - I think I'll sacrifice my opportunity for fame on this occasion. Have a good day.

I certainly wont be bothering my @ss to go up there. I still have nightmares after the filming of the CW advert for the tour a few years ago in Croydon
All we got then was a water bottle which pinches yer lip and it leaked, plus a week old copy of CW.

£90... not worth getting up for!

I'll be doing pretty much my normal commuting route but a bit shorter - Beckenham, Sydenham, Crystal Palace, Dulwich, Camberwell, Elephant & Castle, Southwark.

Ditto Jon, what time do you think you'll be at the top of Fountain Drive? Mind if I link up?

Anerley Hill should be fun while still half asleep!

Friday

Crew was based in a car park off Regent's park, great breakfast at 7.30am.

Half the "actors" so about 20 were chosen quite randomly to take part in the morning shoot, which apparently involved mostly standing in the cold while they were filming the main character, the "yellow jersey", jumper rather, guy. Paul T was told to put on, first a hoodie, then a suit (I have mobile phone pics but don't know how to dowload them), then for some reason known to the producers only had to swap the suit with Phil. Rest of us spent the morning in a heated double decker taking the piss of each other (and of the cycling policemen practising their - seemingly very poor - riding skills), trying out various unusual bikes and chatting to messenger guys and girls.

Great lunch, then afternoon shoot which was doing laps of Regent's park following closely Mr Yellow, a non-cyclist on a duff mtb, but never overtaking him, which proved harder and harder as the laps went by and he was getting knackered. Messenger bikes, Bromptons, cruisers, rickshaws, people of all ages and ethnicities made for a cool if somewhat clumsy peloton.

Final shoot was off Fitzroy park near Euston, once again Mr Yellow was the star, almost upstaged by Mrs Yellow a little old lady who we had to then follow in what seems to be the grand denouement of the script of the advert.
