Broken shoulder

Postby Steve B » Mon Mar 12, 2007 9:41 am

After a fall on a skiing holiday, Brian Robinson has broken a piece of bone off his shoulder ball joint. He has flown home and had surgery yesterday (sunday).

He has been told that it will be about 3 months before he can ride his bike again, which means missing out on the Mallorca trip.

Get well soon mate,

Steve

Hey Brian, Sorry to hear about this - If you remember I broke my collar bone a few years ago - I ended up usung the turbo before I was allowed out on the road - came back fitter , stronger , and longer lasting on my first CR !!

The view from surgeon was turbo is fine , so long as your shoulder doesnt hurt whilst performing the activity - good luck on a speedy return !

Cheers, Matt

Ouch! Get well soon, although it sounds like Toks and Matt want you doing turbo intervals before the end of the month :D .

Cheers guys. Bit of a bummer, happened on 1st day (ever). Was pushing the boundaries a bit  to maximise the holiday and blew it big style with a heavy wipeout on a blue run.

Had operation on Sunday at St Georges in Tooting. They pinned it back together and am now in rehabilitation. Shoulder to be immobilised for 4 weeks before any physio. Thus, Majorca ain't happening for this year. I suspect it will be June before I hit the open road with the club.

Once the scar from surgery has healed will definitely be hitting the turbo. I'll have the 2 x 20min turbos licked by May if nothing else. Interesting to see what my pace will be like on a turbo only diet.

See you in June  .
