EMERGENCY "GET YOU HOME" FIXES - 25th APRIL

Postby Andrew G » Mon Mar 12, 2007 9:53 pm

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Grahame Baker and Marco show you how to get home...

They will be talking and demonstrating some of the emergency fixes that will enable you to get home, to the nearest station etc should you encounter a problem.

Using a wealth of experience from their mountain biking backgrounds where there is no problem that seems to stop you - snapped chainstays, pah easy - you can expect to learn a lot of things you'd never have thought of and are bound to come in handy during your cycling life.

The Date: 25th April 2007
The Place: The Clubroom, Addiscombe Methodist Church Hall - Map.
The Time: 8:30pm

Please come along, enjoy tea, cake, chat, and go away a more knowledgeable person. What more could you want.

Cheers,

Andrew.

Did I tell you the time when I punctured on my 1" slicked commuting mtb and ran out of tubes, had to tie a knot to my punctured tube to get me home? That was a good (if slightly uncomfortable) one!

I remember riding with a fella out near Salt Lake who was telling us how he once ran out of inner tubes while up in the mountains somewhere, and completed his ride by stuffing his tyre full of grass

Not much grass on South London roads! Does your method involve buying a train ticket marco?

Just hang around in Brixton looking a bit shifty, and you'll soon get offered some.

:D

i remember someone trying the grass technique on an ECBR ride.

it didn't work. i think you need to use very dry grass or you just get a tyre full of silage!
