It was a learning experience for both George and myself.

I'm sure George meant to attack the rest of the group rather than tow them and as he was the strongest, it would have been hard for him just to sit in and let me win.

I did tell George to go for it before I did as I knew the others wouldnt have a chance of catching him but as he didnt, I thought I would.

If we got the tactics right, it would hace been 1st for George & 2nd for me.

There is always next time but for some reason, I dont think it will be so easy.

Hey thats what make RRing so fascinating. Just being the strongest in the race isn't enough. In my one and only witn last year at Palace it was another 2 v 1 situation (Dulwich Paragons V ACC) They tried the old one- two on me but the first guys jump just wasn't strong enough so all three of us stayed together untill I sprinted clear with 20-30metres to go.

This racing game is fascinating to watch. Once in a E12 race Warrick Spence (LD) jumped away with 10 laps to go and his partner Guy PowerDrill (LD) tried to bridge across but he kept having to ease up coz he was dragging the bunch back to Warrick. It was on and absolute knife edge Warrick had 15 secs on the bunch, eventually Guy went back to the pack and Warrick won solo

Well done everyone.

I think I need to get back into the training group and see if some of the speed rubs off.

Aodan.

No - you need to make use of those BC points you got at Hillingdon and join the ranks of ACC 3rd cat racers - now!
