new helmet advice...

Postby Stu Merckx Man » Sat Mar 24, 2007 8:06 pm

well when i crashed on thursday my helmet hit the deck reasonably hard for me to use it as an excuse to get a new helmet (a better one :D)..

so just wondering what other people think are good, and have, and any recommendations... no more than £50 though.

cheers
stu

For less than £50? Go for a Monza Stu.

Pnuemo for £55

Stu, I've been thinking of replacing mine as it's been dropped probably more times than's good for it. I also don't want to spend too much as I use it for commuting/racing but not for general riding/training.

I've been looking at the Specialized Aurora which seems to be similar to the £100 Decibel, with most of the same features.

£59.99 at GBs but with the ACC discount comes nearer the £50 mark.

However the 2006 model (which looks the same) is at Evans for £39.99. 2005 model's even cheaper!

Sounds obvious Stu but if you get anything without trying it on it may not fit too good, different manufactures seem to favour different shapes..... Blockhead or Egghead.

 Give Ribble cycles a try, got a rudy project off them towards the end of last year for less than £50 and just had a promo email from them with further reductions on a number of other lids.
