Start list for ACC race

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Does anyone at Addiscombe have an up-to-date start list for the race?

Start List

I do, and it arrived on Friday so that all those people that enter late get a chance to ride.
If you want to go back to the old days, NO entries on the line, Race entries closing 28 days before the event and no-one else allowed to ride, then you can have nice start sheets.

It wasn't a criticism, just a question. Chill, dude.

I'm sure Paul hasn't been called dude in a while

His comment was possibly more prompted by someone's post elsewhere here who commented that the SL site was not updated, than Phil's post which was indeed just a question.

Phil,
Misunderstanding here - my response was to Adam, not your post.

Paul, i was not trying to criticise. My comment came purely from the fact that up until the 11th ish of march, the SL site seemed to be constantly updated and then after that, for about three weeks nothing happened with it at all. I understand the glyn was on holiday, but is there no one else that can update the site?

Perhaps this had something to to with the start list for sundays cutmill race being, not quite right shall we say. I was not the only rider to comment how he had pre-entered the race, but then wasnt on the start lis, so had to pay again. It was lucky the race wasnt so busy, otherwise we might have wasted the journey.

Dont get me wrong, im not knocking the organisation behind the SL, as i full understand that they do an awful lot for people like me. Im just saying that from my perspective, as a young rider just starting out in SL races, it is frustrating to not get results quickly, or not see your name go on the start list when you just want so see it there to calm the nerves before the race. I really dont mean to criticise! Honest Guv!

Of course it is frustrating when things don't quite go to plan.

You should have been around pre internet and mobile phone days. The whole field would turn up at a village hall, and someone would post a notice on the door to say the HQ had changed and there would be a convoy of 50 or so cars racing to the next venue usually hoping the car in front knew the way (sometimes they didn't :!: )

Much has improved, but acknowledge that it is not perfect, but everything is VOLUNTARY and all involved do so much woek behind the scenes to make racing possible.

The problem was that Glyn is the only person able to update the site, but he thought it would be simple to do remotely from the States, but some technological gremlin prevented him from doing it.
