At least shimano dont rip you off for their top of the range gruppo...!

Â£625 Dura Ace, Â£1100 Record, dont even get me started on 'oh sh!t my breaks dont work as i rapidly aproach an alpine hairpin at 60mph' for over Â£1200!

...also hiding, in an old air raid shelter, location undisclosed!

When I've seen groupset comparisons they tend to compare Dura Ace with Chorus, Record seems to stand alone

Just to add something to this.
Those of us of ***ahem*** a certain age who remember watching racing in the 60's and 70's and much of the 80's will know that Campag was the de facto choice for all components and hence has a certain nostalgia.
As a boy, looking in bike shop windows at a Super Record rear mech was like looking at ultra expensive jewelery. Back then there was no choice. Campag was the best.Bar none.
That same nostalgia lives on today. I suspect a fair few of us older cyclist choose Campag over the fishing gear for the very same sentimental reasons.

Since we're here, I might mention that I once went to the Shimano web-site (no, I can't remember why either) and got a page with a load of fishing equipment on it

. At least the Italians only do bike stuff.

Lamborghini started out making tractors.

Campagnolo is also employed by NASA and F1 to make some of the more intricate bits and pieces they need as they are the recognised world experts in producing small technical things in carbon fibre.

So there, stick that on the of your fishing rod!
