Addiscombe Road Race Promotion

Postby Andrew G » Tue Mar 13, 2007 3:32 pm

Dear Agreeables,

YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU

Helpers are still needed for the Addiscombe promoted Surrey League Road Race on the Saturday 31st March.

We urgently need people who can help out with marshalling duties etc. at the Addiscombe promoted Surrey League Road Race on the 31st March. This is very easy and is done in groups of 2 or 3 so you will not be lonely and can have a good old chin-wag between laps.

It will also give you a chance to cheers on George, Paul, Adam etc as they try to gain further success for the club.

The HQ is at Leigh Village Hall with the circuit in the surrounding area. For those who don't know this is on the club run route, so you will not be in unfamiliar ground.

You will be needed from about 12 - 12:30 at the HQ for your instructions so we can still enjoy the club run in the morning.

If you can help please contact Paul Tunnell. If you do not have his details then pm or email me and I will pass on your details.

Thank you,
Andrew.

Cheers Graham.
Alan, Slightly damp if I remember from an early morning shower (I'd given the CR a miss for that reason :) ).

I think part of the Surrey League rules is if there aren't enough marshalls, the promoting clubs riders get bumped from the start list to marshall instead.

that is indeed part of the rules, i have stated in the relevant circles that i would be prepared to marshall instead of race. and was firmly told i should race instead of marshall. but i will do whatever is necessary...

its our race, we should be represented on the road no?

I was hoping to race, if my newborn allows me any sleep beforehand, because of this I am finding it hard to commit to stuff but if I can be there and if there are not enought marshals I can do my bit rather than race.
Sorry thats probably not much use!
I'll see if I can get some non cycling volunteers.

Big thanks to Paul tunnel, Tamar, Joyce, Keith Knight, Andrew, Sean, Monty et al and of course all the guys that kindly marshalled and helped to support and promote the race. Another great ACC Road Race promotion. Chapeau :D

I would like to second that. It was the best marshalled event I have been to for a long time. Excellent control over all the dodgy parts of the course made all the riders feel really safe.

Was hard and fast out there today but great fun, thanks for putting the race on.

Cheers

Marek....

Echo that, great event, thanks to all the volunteers.

Thanks to all the racers for representing the club well and providing some good racing. Great to see so many ACC jerseys in the peleton, and light blue but definately tinged with yellow.

...and thanks to Paul for organising the weather, fingers crossed he's done the same for tomorrow. :D
