Does that mean no club run? What about the one at Newland's Corner where the bikers go? Or Rykers Cafe at foot of Box Hill?

Maybe if it is sunny we could find a route to build in Box Hill and have tea from the kiosk at the top and group photos with the Sussex weald in the background. A rt turn at newdigate would do it but the ride might be a bit short but the sprint could be to the top which would certainly spread out the field - I wouldn't anticipate a bunch sprint!! Some may wish to do the zig-zag twice then head back through Walton on the hill and kingswood for a bit of a dash back to Coulsdon South ?

Also, it may be interesting to go out through Betchworth, this gives an adrenalin filled ride down Pebble Hill - not for the feint hearted!

Normal route out, straght on through Rusper, then left into the lanes, left up "the evil hill of pain" to Langhurst, left at the top which brings you out onto Partridge, turn right but then don't take the next right to Charlwood but carry straight on and loop back round to Newdigate, then right and follow the "return via Box Hill" route. Tea and cake as a well deserved reward at the top of the zig zags and home via the potholes is my plan.

There is a nice cafe just after Newdigate called Tanhouse farm, proper coffee- not the happy shopper stuff a la charlwood.
I am not out on the CR this week as we have house pests up from Bristol, but i am out on the mtb on sat morning.
I will get an early good friday ride in and prob a ride on sun as well.

Hello Girls and Boys :) . What a lovely morning.

Many thanks for the reminder about the cafes Alex.

Sounds like some great routes guys :) especially if we can take in Box Hill :) but if there's lots of newbees and 15mph'ers it could be a long old day :D with two tea and cake stops :) .

Anyway, see you Saturday.

John,
My suggestion would be for the newbies and 15mph groups to turn right once they get to Newdigate the first time, or to do an "out and back" ride along the "return" route from Box Hill.

Does this help?

ian,
An early start - 8:00am at CSS is what I proposed - will you join me?
I have to get back for family commitment by 1:00pm.

Paul,

Your plan suits me. I should be able to make it for 8.00 provided I avoid the dredded lurg (gastric flu thing) which has infected my kids this week.

I will confirm tomorrow.

Ta,

Graham.

Many thanks Grahame, there are some good options :) especially Box Hill; if the timing is right we could end up with a nice Team photograph at the top :D

I'll see who is there at CSS, you never know I may end up trying to hang on to you boys and girls ..............or form a group of one

Best wishes.

I will return via Boxhill.
Anyone want to agree a time?
I need to be home by 1:00pm, so suggest 11:00am?, leaving at 12:00 latest? and I'll plan a route accordingly.
