Easter Rides

Postby mrP(Boonen)VT » Tue Apr 03, 2007 10:56 pm

Looking through my diary, I realised that I had nothing planned for the Easter weekend, so came up with a simple plan - 400 miles in 4 days.

I would welcome some company so here are my rides:

Friday 8:00am CSS 4 hour tour of Surrey along leafy lanes that you never knew existed. Back by 12:00 to go up to Herne Hill.

Saturday 8:00am CSS TBA Back by 1:00pm

Sunday 8:00am CSS Brighton for lunch on the seafront , then to Dunsfold Park (SL 3 day)

Monday 8:00am CSS Eastbourne and Birling Gap for lunch

I would have loved to do 400 miles in 4 days. I desperately need the miles.
However, the flu has struck, so this weekend is a washout for me

[quote]Any others rides on for Sunday?

Sean I'm planning on doing a hilly one if you want to get in some climbing practice.

In fact anyone who either likes hills or wants some climbing practice for sportives is welcome. Will re-group (even if it's just me  ) at the top of each hill.

Won't be mega miles, probably 30-40, but tough. Very similar to last year's wednesday rides with a couple of slight deviations.

Hills covered:
1) Upper Selsdon Road
2) Old Farleigh Road
3) Slines Oak Road
4) Chalkpit
5) Titsey (1st half)
6) White Lane (followed by a nice spin across Pilgrims Way)
7) Star Hill
- might squeeze another one after that depending which return is taken. In fact if you're going back to Croydon/Norwood direction you can do Spout Hill.

Propose meeting outside Geoffrey Butler's at 9:30am. Please let me know if anyone is interested as I won't go to GBs first if I'm on me tod.

(If I get time I'll gmap the route so you can see it).

I am so up for a win, i have an axe to grind and a point to prove.
