I was the only Agreeable in this morning's race, on the A3 Petersfield bypass (course P883). I hadn't ridden this course as a 10 before, only as part of the Sussex 100 in the pouring rain last year. So it was much nicer this morning to ride on a dry, sunny and almost windless day. If it had been about 10 degrees warmer it would have been perfect.

Tried out a couple of new purchases today - Planet-X 82mm front wheel, and a Giro pointy hat. Pretty pleased with both - the wheel took a bit of getting used to as tended to weave a bit as traffic passed by, so I wouldn't use it on a windy day. The new lid seemed ideal, with the point just brushing my back between my shoulder blades. And another first - my knees made an appearance in the open air for the first time this year.

I was the penultimate rider off, with just the top seed Nik Bowdler behind me. He caught me at six miles, but wasn't flying past, and I managed to keep him in sight almost all the way to the finish.

Finished in 22:28, which is about what I was expecting. 15th place out of 72 finishers, so not too shabby.

Good ride and nice day for it.

I commented to my wife when we were driving to the in-laws for breakfast that I hoped it was like this next Sunday for the Redmon 25 especially since I'm one of the last off!

I'd be more than pleased with a time like that by the end of the season, not in b.......y April.

Triffic ride Jon.

BTW
My first 25 for a few years next week Beds 25 on F1 (only got in as it was slowest 90 :!: :!: )

Nice one Jon. Whilst you're out there delivering 22.28, I'm sitting here dreaming of 28.22

Cheers - Snoop
