Meanwhile.....Back at The Broom Wagon

Well whaddya know, in addition to my usual winter slothfulness, it turns out I had a stress fracture in me left foot. This goes some way to explaining the unusually high levels of discomfort I've been feeling when walking and/or cycling (not much of the latter that's fer sure).

Anyhoo - last 2 weeks or so things have been feeling much better and so, inspired by all these Easter tales of derring do - I did some derring don't.

Inspired by a recent day of mountain biking in The New Forest with my darling Mrs Snoop for her Birthday last week, I bought a nice new Specialized Rock Hopper on Saturday and spent Sunday afternoon thrashing around local bridle paths for a couple of hours, which was nice.

Today I got the old road bike out of mothballs and went for a twiddle over to Little Switzerland, Box Hill and back home to Carshalton. Box Hill sucked but after what seemed an eternity I got to the top and was handsomely rewarded with a big slice of fatboy bakewell  . It took me an hour to get from my gaff to the top (15 miles). Slightly shorter distance back home (14 miles) which I managed in 40 minutes. It's alright this cycling lark.

I'm now tired and more than a tad worried about how long the SCCU 25 will take me. I will have to knuckle down to hit my 2007 goals, but after a loooong winter hibernation, it's nice to be back.

Cheers - Snoop

Glad you're back a-stride your beast, hope the hoof is fixed.

Good to see you studiously ignored the results of your poll. 8)

The hoof is much better - just the rest of me that needs sorting now. Regards my poll, I did both, so I have a nice new proper mtb and a fixed up old WWII tank (thanx again Guru Paul for the advice) masquerading as a mtb

Cheers - Snoop
