Hillingdon Tuesday

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Kevin, I've delayed the tooth extraction for a week, so will give you company in the race.

Tim!

I would be, but most likely will be stuck at work tonight unfortunately.

If you know how to get to Sheperd's Bush, it's fairly easy from then, follow Uxbridge road for about 12km until you join the place where we turned off the main road to get to that small train station last time, then you will know where you are. Have a look on a map beforehand. Overall distance from Victoria is about 20km I think which takes 50-55 minutes at easy pace.

[quote="Kevin Rynne"] my legs are still a bit sore today!

Oh yours too? :D

Methinks the *gentle* ride back home might in part have something to do with it ... you killed me there almost.

Not that much to say for me about the race, I tried to stay in the first 1/3rd, close enough to the front to see Jon do a lot of work as usual (and avoid the sketchiness at the back), and only got there 2-3 times to chase attacks, just enough to have my photo taken  . Wasn't feeling great at the start (almost didn't race upong hearing the fee for the race number was £10, which I'm not likely to use anymore, on top of the £8 race fee) so was glad not to get dropped, though it was close after a turn at the front when I went from 1st to pretty much last position within 15 seconds.

There were unsuccessful attacks, like I said the speed was high despite the wind, and on the photos you can see Jon and I at either side of the track fighting for a top 10 in the sprint, I see they published results up to 8th place, so there is still hope for a point each ...

I see Matt got a 4th place in the 4th Cat race, congrats.

It's impressive seeing Jon race and I'm sure it won't be long till he gets race tactics sussed and repeat his feat of Chertsey.

Can't wait for Palace now ... which reminds me of (French comedy series) ...
