Sean, are your look pedals still clicking?

I have a tool (ooerr, missus) that allows you to open the pedal up to put some grease in - that quietened mine down nicely.

If you want to borrow it, post a message here and I'll try to remember to slip it into my pocket in the morning.

You could always extend your ride down to Holmwood, 3 Agreeables to cheer in a 10 that starts at 2pm. :wink:

went with the training group today, though how wise it was im not sure, as i was meant to take it easy today so im on form to race tomorrow, i think i should be ok...

good training group made of matt R, jim B, marek, carl (new one) sylvain, graham and me.

stonking great speed to the deul carriage way with everyone doing turns on the front and always pushing up the pace.

the through and off was pretty fast. there was a funny moment at the beggining when carl came through for his first turn and it looked like he had an electric shock as he just charged straight of the front of the group making graham suffer to get back on his wheel :lol:

towards the end marek really wound up the pace as he volunteered to lead us into the sprint so he didnt seam to mind doing uber long turns on the front.

as we got off the duel carriage way the fun really started. marek did a rather early lead out and then seamed to die, so i sprinted between him and sylvain to try and break but sylv had me marked so i slowed a bit. then syvlain came through to do a turn which probably cost his the sprint because marek then charged through again and i managed to grab his wheel but it was a wheel too far for sylv!

so as we got the second to last bend it was just me left for mareks lead out. but my god was he charging for it. at one point i thought i would not be able to come round him for the signs. as we came round the last bend he put in a big kick, but half way down the straight he started to slow down a tad. so with a 1/4 of the distance to go i popped out and managed to bag my first training group sprint for charlswood whoop whoop! marek 2nd sylv 3rd and i think matt came 4th. i didnt think i had turned on my speedo but when i looked at it i was shocked to see an average speed of 24.1!

took it easier on the way back but had a pretty speedy run in back to coulsdon.
im not feeling to fatigued...but im not sure that counts for much seeming as jon (man in green) is on the list for tomorrows race :shock:

Stu, your lucky, im now on antibiotics for my ear... and bloody strong ones too! So it'll be a while before im on form for the sprints again though.

However, i did look at the stats from my Dunsfold 2nd place the other day as a little morale boost. 67.7kph sprint finish... think you can match that!?

Howdy All,

Great day today. As stu said, it was a bit quick down to the caf. I managed to stay with the pace for most of it.

Anyhow, the fun continued after the cafe with quite a stonking ride down to box hill, and then the usual race back to coulsden.

Anyhow, look forward to next time.

Marshaling duties tomorrow (well nearly tonight) plus an overwhelming urge to play with my daughter Keira meant a truncated CR for me today. I took my mtb out with the 15 group. Went down to Riegate and then back home via Reigate Hill :shock:

then Fanny's farm shop up markedge Lane :shock:

followed by the long drag up to Banstead :shock:

then home via a few bridle paths and the like. No bike computer but my legs and heart are telling me I put in some good effort today.

Mrs Snoop went shopping while Keira and I made a pirate hat this afternoon to go with my Jolly Roger.

Great stuff, I mean, Arrrrrrrr.

Superb ride out today with a good group. I broke a cleat on the way out to the CR so i turned back so i could change my shoes ( a black sidi pair darling).
I went out to Reigate and waited to see what groups were out, first off .... the training group :shock:

Marek, Stu, Jim,Sylv, Graham O and a few others, nah- i will sit this one out :wink:

. They seemed to have a few shimano type mechanicals that i won't mention, allen keys were flying round doing their best to "polish a turd" :lol:

Not too far behind came a crowd of friendly faces purring along with campag "precision".
I hooked in and went from 60 to 160bpm in about 100 metres :shock:

Good to see Huw again after a sojourn in Majorca, Toby was flying- till he punctured, and Alan absolutely "'aving it large"- going with every break Andrew could muster.
It was a fairly well controlled group- apart from a little half wheeling on occasions.
I finally beat Huw on a hill.... well it was going down :wink:

, Andrew had done a huge amount on the front for a long time and was getting a little tired, so in true ACC style Huw and myself left him for dead- just before the long drop down to the dual carraigeway-.
Huw just left me over the crest and off he went, knowing that my super descending skills (ok.. a major weight advantage ) would soon bring him back i just tucked in.. top speed of the day, no pedalling...77kph

A reasonably tidy thru and off all the way to the cafe saw the shadow take the honours- as well as the p1ss as i dont think he went to the front all ride :wink:

Sounds about right, he is the shadow after all...

But i thought you learnt your lesson Mr Munnery. Did you pick on us sprinter's last year, first on steve, then on me. Saying we do 'no work' until the sprint, hence we win with ease...

Then both of us on seperate occasions, basically lead the group the whole way to the thru and off, then won the sprint anyway!

What more can i say, some of us are just 'pure fast twitch muscle power houses!'

Useful figures if you want to work out how many slices of pizza you have earned after a clubrun - average for 75kr rider on the flat without wind:

5 mph - 7 Cal/mile - 37 Cal/hr
10 mph - 13 Cal/mile - 133 Cal/hr
15 mph - 23 Cal/mile - 349 Cal/hr
20 mph - 37 Cal/mile - 742 Cal/hr
25 mph - 55 Cal/mile - 1374 Cal/hr
