Anyone notice the TV cameras at Palace last tuesday?
Came home from work on Thursday evening, switched on the tube to watch the Avengers (which these days nestles in a remote tv backwater called BBC 4) and it was followed by a news programme featuring an article on the politics of finding a replacement for Eastway. An interview with Matt Seatton trackside at Crystal Palace, cut to the race action and whammo! ACC riders all over the place tearing it up. Good work fellas.
Whilst on the subject of ACC in the media. Cycling Weekly this week plumbs new depths. You thought pictures of me half-dead in this winter's reliability trials were bad... you thought it couldn't get worse than the picture of Paul Dewis form the southern sportive last year.. well you were wrong... this coming thursday, step forward Andrew Green, who is pictured in CW for some allegedly funny story about another person called Andrew Green from another club - that's as much as I know. Explain yourself Andrew???

It wasn't me that wrote in! Blimey you must be desperate this week Huw. Mr. Andrew Green is my doppelganger from Old Ports (so only lives down the road). You couldn't mix us up as he has dark hair, and is considerably less common than me, he speaks proper. Seemed a nice enough bloke though.
I met him at the SCCU 25 start last week (his aim is to beat the hour by the end of the season and I wished him well), and gave him a shout of encouragement today as he passed my marshalling point.
At the SCCU event we both had generous handicaps so got a one-two in the handicap, he beat me. I dont think we'll cross swords much (1 all the score so far) as he is clearly going for 25s, the only TTs I'm doing from now on are 10s (apart from SCCU events).
We did see the TV cameras so tried to smile,well I was grimacing. Should have asked what it was for, but didn't think at the time.
Speaking of your glorious visage in the mag, did you say it was 12 sportives you were doing this year at your talk?

Hope they got a good shot of the commissaire
