Very well done, Sean. Here's to the next 2,000.

I plan on doing this ride. Mrs A and I were married in this, one of the most verdent, fecund and frondous corners of England. Always a pleasure to return.

Date-wise, nestles nicely for me between the Nove Colli and the Dragon Ride.

I'd like to book a place sir.

Room for a little one if you do end up driving? Here's a link to the site for anyone else that's interested:

Did the doctor take that horrible iron-mongery out of your finger, has the swelling started to go down  , will you be okay for Italy, have you thrown the turbo out the window yet due to the tedium and frustration.

Oh and is typing still difficult

Cheers. Should be a good day, that. Sean'll keep you entertained on the way back while I sleep. :)

Not sure it'll ever be quite as pretty as it once was, but there is some movement in the finger now. This will improve when the skewers come out - hopefully this will happen the very day before we head off for Italy and the NC. I'll be in trouble otherwise from a cycling/entire-week point of view - but am not thinking about that now.

Six weeks off the bike is not ideal preparation for the forthcoming exertions, but all is far from lost. For example, Andrew G has kindly lent me his turbo, and I've been doing a fair bit of running anyway in preparation for the Bristol Half Marathon. Plus, as I was telling Sean earlier, am off the booze, the cake and the bread for the time being in the hope that there'll be a lighter load to haul over the hills when I finally do get back in the saddle in anger...

Needless to say, with one thing (endless housework with limited or no help) and another (droning turbo trainer and pools of sweat on the maple flooring), it's all been a barrel of laughs for Mrs A
