Numbness in my leg. any advice

Postby Kevin Rynne » Tue May 01, 2007 3:14 pm

I had a strange sensation of numbness in my right leg after racing at Hillingdon two weeks ago. Since then I have been in Ireland and not been on my bike. The numbness seems to be getting worse and I am losing the power to my right leg. I have an enlarged disk L5 for which I am told nothing can be done to help, and it must be related to this. Not sure what to do next I have given up on the Drs I have seen so far on the NHS. Has anyone come across this,? I am going to see a chiropractor for advice, but also if it continues to see a Dr privately. Any sugestions as it is driving me mad! and its also started just as I was getting some form at last.

I've always used Metis with great success. If they cannot sort you out they are able to refer you to the appropriate specialist.

Thanks guys I will check out that chiropractor in Purley. Ive been to Metis in the past and found them usefull up to a point, they got me mobile again when I hurt my back. But they are so expensive I think I was having two sessions a week, and in the end I must have spent about £700 there in total. Marco how much does the Chiropractor cost?

Mike @ Metis told me yesterday, that he had two slipped discs from rugby, which caused him all sorts of strange compilications, such as symptoms simular to postrate gland problems. So I guess it's an area that he has special interest in.

I've been seeing Mike @ Metis too. Really impressed. Make sure you get ACC discount. Still £££ if you're having a number of sessions but not as bad as other physios I've used.
