Brighton Run with John C.

Postby SimonJOsborne » Sun Apr 29, 2007 2:34 pm

Before starting out this Saturday with the 15's group Alex and John C proposed the idea of having a 15's Brighton ride one Saturday in June.

I think it would be a great ride and make a nice change from the standard run. So lets get this baby organised.

Some routes would be handy. I for one am looking forward to having another go at Ditchling and the downhill bit on the other side :)

How about doing this ride on one of the first two Saturdays in June?

Mrpvt, your offer of a route would be most appreciated as some of us will be new to this.

John remembers doing a London to Brighton time trial in a time where there was only a single set of traffic lights on the way - if only we had that now.

Early June is a good time to do this. :D

I am willing to lead a steady ride down to the coast and back- honest- no MPVT TT's
Chips and everything- should be a good social, i suggest an earlier start, so we can rest longer on the beach. It is not really a hard ride taken at a more relaxed pace, but it is a good sense of achievement with about 95/100 miles in the bank. I would not leave anyone behind.

Like the sound of this. No offence Guru Paul but you'd drop me like a stone on Brighton beach mate - if the date works out I'll be drafting behind the big feller!

Cheers - Snoop

If we plan it well looks like we could have two runs to Brighton on the same day.

Perhaps we could have three, 18+, Steady 18 and a 'Gentlemen's (and Ladies) 16. :)

Wooooow  hang on a minute girls and boys, I don't mind the "Specials15" and cannot lead three groups  .

This will be a great event and a lot of fun :D just don't have all the Cod and chips

Best wishes.

I don't know John we could clone you, so you could lead all three groups. But maybe we would need to splice in a bit of Paul for the 18+

If you are there to lead the 'specials' I would be up for helping with the pace as I quite fancy riding there and back if some 15's are up for it.

May I suggest 2nd June as the potential ACC Brighton Big Day Out?

Definately up for another C-B-C. Race penciled in for the 2nd but I'll see how my legs feel after Italy. Might opt for a nice day at the seaside anyway. :D

John, worry not, we need your skills on the 'Specials15' for the Brighton trip to ensure we encourage those who want the challenge without the concerns on being left behind on the faster groups.

Looks like we are getting some good support for this 8) 8)

2nd June sounds a good date so far
