Palace Praise

Just a public thank you to all those who turned out to marshall down the Palace tonight.

To have so many there as marshalls and then a good number racing was a real show of strength.

And well done to John and Sylvain for their first and third respectively.

David.

[quote]never knew Addiscombe had become a racing club!

I am not keen on getting hung up on labels. This issue has been raised before, but I would like to say that we are not, do not profess to be a racing club. The clue is in the title "Addiscombe Cycling Club". We cater for the broader remit of cycling, and one aspect of that (which has always been my passion) is racing, and one we are getting rather good at.

Unfortunately, many of the riders that have started their cycling life with ACC have chosen to go to more race orientated teams, which is their choice, although most of them seem to get worse results, or worse still are lost to the sport!!

And a great night at the Palace it was too. Keep up the good work.

Well at least one thing that is pretty sure is that we're the only club where we're discussing the evening's race on a forum two hours later after the finish :-)

Well we might have 20 guys who race and race good now, but we still have like 200 other guys and girls who just do what they enjoy, without racing huh? Guess that makes us one huge cycling jack of all trades really!

[quote]Easy tiger. No issue was being raised at all. Andy was making a point re: the # of cyclists we now seem to have wanting to have a go at racing. Last night proved beyond all doubt that we're a racing club, a TT club, an MTB club......Yes, we're a cycling club, period.

I'm going to pick up a CD of photos from my Dad, probably tomorrow, Sean. I'll post up links etc. If there's one of you you like I'm sure we could sort out a nice print for a Birthday pressie.
