Firstly i want to thank everyone sticking around and being so caring after the crash at chertsey on saturday and i hope that everyone else who was in crashes on the day are ok. I think there were six addiscobe riders altogether. Also thanks to aodan for giving me a lift to the hospital and looking after my bike.
After looking at the X-rays you could clearly see that my elbow had quite literally snapped off (not a pretty site), meaning that im going to have to have surgery to put wires in to join my trisep muscle to my forearm. apparently i'll have full movement after about a week, but i've got to use the dreaded turbo trainer for about 4 weeks.
Anyway, thanks again, i'll keep you all posted.
see you all in 4 weeks (hopefully).

When I saw you come down I was sure you had broken your collar bone, but afterwards When you mentioned the clicking Sound when you moved it I was thinking thats going to require a bit more than a plaster! Hope this does not put you off. You were going really well prior to this. If you need any bits to repair your bike post somthing on here and we will see what we can do to help out. Think you should replace those handlebars! I still dont know how I avoided the crash! as it all hapened in slow motion just in front of me.

Hey everyone. Quit morphine and got out of hospital yesterday. might be in a cast for 4 weeks now, all depends on how quick the bone heals. saw the x-rays after the op and the wires around the bone look most impresive.
Luckily the wheels are only going to cost about £25-£30 to repair and the frame has just got to be checked. fingers crossed.
I found out about the BCF insurance and im gouing to get £25 for every 24 hours spent in hospital, which concludes that people who participate in cylcle racing are WELL protected if they crash, and for my troubles im going to get £25 for having 4 weeks off work which i must spend wisely. o well. the point is, why is it that you MUST HAVE insurance when you apply for a race liscence because your only really covered for accidents out side of racing it seems. theres probably a bigger picture but i cant really see it. maybe its classed as a self inflicted injury. (sorry about the rant)
should be up at the palace next week cheering you all on.
thanks all for the get well soon messages.
see you soon.

All the best Simon. I hope you get better real soon.

Just remember : it could have been a lot worse. At least I cushioned the landing for you

Anyhow, you just have to re-adjust your goals now. By late summer, when everyone else is burnt out, you'll just be coming into form and will be able to clear up in races.

I don't suppose it's any consolation but I had to go to the doc yesterday since I still can't walk without pain or move my leg properly. Apparently I've damaged a vertabrea in my back and I'll be off the bike for a couple of weeks.
