It was slightly spitting as I left Addiscombe but cleared up after with just overcast sky's, the weather kept under control until riding back through Purley with a torritential downpour, soaked to the bone
Richard Apples was the unluckiest rider today puncture before Coulsdon and around Turners hill
Most impressed with Doms form, since he last was out with Marek and myself he's really upped the endurance.
Polish Andrew as well was certanly not shy of the front at any time!
We were a fairly strong bunch so the pace was brisk, when I got to the front, I was just checking my new cranks were performing correctly?
then I noticed they started to drag somewhat, untill I saw Paul T holding my saddle bag
Paul took us down Slugwash lane and popped us right out under the south downs, which we traversed to find the bottom of Ditchling
Paul H and I pulled away from the bunch up the begining of the drag.
Then Paul H really cranked up the cadence and started to pull ahead, he had about a 30M gap,
then I saw him ease up slightly so I got out the saddle and got back on his wheel.
Still felt strong so pulled ahead to finally beat him at his own game
Very windy at the top so we sheltered by the grass bank and regrouped, Paul and I decided to head back home from the top of Ditchling, after a very scrumptious lunch at POLLY'S PANTRY back down in the village.
A nice tail wind home, Top gear all the way, I think we made Coulsdon in 1.5 hours
Good ride today still leaving enough in the tamk for Palace Tomorrow, bring out the SUNSHINE, sorry guy's I didn't make it out on the MTB ride yesterday I sure missed a good ride by the sound of it
