new gears?

having mashed up my rear mech on my winter bike, i was wondering the best course for action...

its campag veloce from the 80s, so i presume i cant just by a modern rear mech and swap it can i?

also while im at it i would like to make it a 9/10 speed seeming as its only 6 or 7 at the moment. would that mean i need to change the chainrings and the front mech?

better still, does anyone have a complete group set i can buy off them? it can be campag or shimano im not too fussed, i just want to spend as little money as possible  . im only looking for lower end stuff...
ofcourse if someone is willing to let a carbon record group set go for xenon prices i wont say no

cheers
stu

Hi Stu

I rekon you should really be able to fit any rear mech on, surely all you have to do is adjust the end stops and Bobs your uncle :o

I have a Shimano 105 rear mech off my old commuting bike that should do the job it's about 10 years old but your welcome to it

Cheers George
