What a day people ! My first day of holidays... I popped out to Saab Purleyh way this afternoon to look at a car. I propped my bike against the entrance for 2 minutes - when the manager went to bring it in at my request - it was gone
! Stolen. 2 teenagers caught on CCTV camera cycling away on it, together ! I don't think thats what Look had in mind when they designed it. Paul, one of the sales guys, got me to jump in the car and did high speed pursuit !
That was some test drive....! We went around all the local back streets. No sign. I called 999. Police arrived back at Saab dealers. I was still in shock, gutted. I was sure my lovely bike was now gone forever !
Amazingly, plain clothes officers had picked up bike in Purley way shopping area, near Ikea ! I couldn't believe it. The two boys were just cruising about in it ! I went to identify bike. Only difference was that drinks bottle had been changed for coke bottle, and i think it was being ridden by eight year old / and or 18 year old. They were taken away in police car. I gave a statement. I will definitely be writing to Croydon Borough Commander to commend these officers, absolutely remarkable, I'm glad they responded so quickly and so effectively.
