Arrrr, I tell ee I never shoulda taken that extra bag o dubloons with me.
Up at 4am - wasn't going to repeat last weeks late start débacle
Good natured atmosphere around the HQ as the Rawson Shield winback attack gathered pace.
I went along hoping to get under 29 mins, my best on the course being 29.29 from last September. It was breezy, The Prez came to my rescue and lent me her spare pair of gloves. Pressure on - got to deliver now
No pusher off
Quite breezy out and about but I felt in reasonable nick - I think this training I've been doing the past few weeks is slowly beginning to help. Pushed as hard as I could, got up to 29.9mph at one point
and crossed the line, legs burning, with a 28.52.
Mission accomplished!
Back at HQ very sorry to hear that John had a blowout. He must've hit something significant as the tub was well and truly sliced - no way back for that tyre.
So for me, a good day. I went on to do several hours of hard labour in the garden tending me veggies and cutting grass. I then went to a mate's 40th birthday party and got somewhat mashed
. Bed at 4am Sunday, a busy 24 hrs!
