Well done Paul, it puts Saturday's climb into perspective.

I also noticed your avg and max heart rate at only 160 and 173. Does that mean it can be even quicker or is that close to max ?

Aodan.

Because of so many other factors heart rate can be a bit of a red herring in such short hard efforts. Yes generally if fresh, well high hydrated, not anxious, not sleep deprived and not ill the harder you're working - the higher your heart rate. But if you haven't ridden your bike for a few days or you've ridden hard for a number of days in a row that will effect heart rate av positively or negatively.

So in truth av hrt of 160BPM simply tells us how fast Paul's heart was beating and nothing else. To find out how hard he was working (Power) we need he's powertap recording

Wasnt using my PowerTap bike so no readings i'm afraid.

I paced myself for a sub 6 minute time and reckon I could go faster. My max HR = 195.

Adam - you need top start the clock at the right hand turn at the bottom by the house and stop at the entrance to the cafe.

And no rolling start of 30mph either. LOL!

I've been doing mine with a standing start...

Should always be a standing start for a hill climb time, but I'll bet there's more than a few doing rolling starts. :D
Well done Adam, get up Box Hill in under 6"30 and you will be a complete rider.

That was the challenge yesterday morning, a quick solo training ride was alls i had time for yesterday before making my debut at the new wembley stadium

So i hit the bottom, and straight into traffic, some Serpentine CC (whoever they are!?) right in my way, managed to overtake about 20 guys before the first hairpin, which just about nullifies my rolling start i reckon...

the second drag seemed to go quick, even had to ease a little going round the second hairpin, past yet more riders. I was flying, a couple of guys tried to hold my wheel, but no, no chance! Then it hit me, half way to the 3rd hairpin my legs were screaming. Got to the last hairpin, and dug in, one last effort...

to stop the clock on...

6m18s.

Once again, not bad for the 'prima donna' huh!? LOL

Reckon i could go quicker though, id been giving it some the whole ride before hand so wasn't exactly fresh. But sub 6.30 will do for me

Excellent effort Adam! To be fair everyone arrives at Box with quite a few K's in their legs though Fifth spot looks pretty impressive :D

The last 2 hairpins very very damp today and had leaves and made the last section sprinting to the finish not easy so decided to stay in the saddle than rather fall like Stu once did in damp conditions.

Anyway enough of the excuses i got my time down to 6mins 16 today.

The trusty powertap figures were :-

370 Watts NP 366 Average Watts
Min hr 122, Max hr 179, Av 164bpm
Weight 64kg
Fitness rider
