A good night, didn't expect to catch Sean so getting him by the turn was very nice , although to be fair I could tell he wasn't on it as I approached.

I've decided to ride most of the Evening 10s on fixed to use them for fitness and any good times that come are a bonus. The advantage of fixed is that you don't let your mind wander (as I have in the past) as you've no choice but pedaling that one gear all the time with no let up, certainly focuses the mind.

For gearing fans I rode 44x14 which is 83.5" according to the CTT handbook. It seemed about right and I felt pretty good all the way round, although I know I can go a bit quicker on it, assuming the wind stays as calm as it was last night. For some reason I couldn't get my legs spinning properly on the downhill swoops so only had a max of 33.5mph from the flying finish.

All in a great turn out and as usual thanks to everyone involved, Joyce, Tim, Jon, and the mighty M for kicking my arse off the start line.

Well done to all particularly Sam who knocked 3 mins off last weeks time and caught his Dad on the line.

George, I think you'd go quicker without tri-bars as when you ride and hammer it along you tend to use your upper body to help deliver the power. The tri bars probably stopped you doing this as they locked your uper body in place.

This was my first TT and have to say very enjoyable once I stoped riding.

Thank you to the organisers and a big thank you to Andrew for the loan of a front tyre after mine split on the way to the start.

Looking forward to the next one to see if I can beat my time.

Well done all. Great result for Mike Trim, beat me by 4 sceonds - 1st time out for him (note to self don't offer to do a pre race reccie with any more newbies ). I'm pleased cos I got a new PB by 7 seconds. Looking forward to the Horsham 10 on the 23rd June

I had a good night as well and i was only the pusher ( nearly everyone scored )
Good to have a natter with everyone,'specially as some were shaking as it was their first TT.
Just relax guys i wont drop you!
All the regular TTers were there and you could see they were happy and focused and just sped out of the "off", Rich V was so up for it he did it twice - as 29th "off" he had time to power round the course at an obscene wattage- thats why they decommisioned Waddon power station when he got a turbo .
Jim and Dave K just made the start with seconds to spare... just time to roll to the start, reset the 'puter and off, fantastic times as well, both riding lovely bikes as well, i wantoneofthose.
I also had a long chat with Joyce- "el presidente", she does so much for the club, a real unsung heroine.
Big grins all round and maybe a few retches from Daniel!
Good night out- endorphines released what more do you want? Beer says George!
