Training for super 15's Brighton Ride on 23rd June

Postby Tim Coales » Fri Jun 15, 2007 5:15 pm

:D Hi everyone who's expressed interest in the Super 15's steady ride to Brighton on 23rd June.

We are planning to leave CSS at 9.05am (the time it states on the ACC Digest for ocassional longer rides). This is to give us more time for a cafe stop (or 2!) on the way down, and to avoid lots of confusion with the other groups.

I also thought it would be good to extend the 15's ride down through Rusper and Lamb's Green tomorrow and come back over Box Hill. This should be about 56 miles round trip to Coulsdon. We'll be finalising our route for 23rd at the Cafe. Simon O is doing his training on the BHF ride on 17th (to Brighton with a 50,000 strong group!)

Put me down for this one John!

I'll join the super 15's, the coffee stops sound great!

Sounds like no time for coffee at Regliano's beforehand though!!!!

Phil.

Phil, Regliano's is shut on that Saturday so it does not matter...

Need to find a coffee stop on the route though, as I will need my caffeine fix

As long as there are some other riders who want to ride at that pace. You may want to try and mobilise some people before Sat.

I am looking forward to Saturday. Just got my fingers crossed for the weather.

L2B ride on Sunday was ok. Mike and me were both not feeling at our best so we took it easy. We ran into the ACC unofficial who were in the process of fixing a puncture. It was tempting to join them but we knew we wouldn't keep up. It drizzled at Ditchling, and I bumped into Angie at the top while having a breather. And it was damp on the way down. Not really sure how quick the ride was into Brighton as I am awaiting the wireless fitting kit for the new bike. I couldn't resist a little sprint for the line. And according to Mikes computer we did it in 3:32. We caught up with the other ACCer's later.

Possible route?

Postby jeffmesie » Wed Jun 20, 2007 5:43 pm

Hi all. This is the route I was referring to last Saturday in the cafe.
http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/comms/s ... ardinal=10.

I expect it is fairly similar to what most of the rest of the club use.

Will see you there. I have said I will meet the family in Brighton at around 2.00pm. This should be enough time shouldn't it?

cheers

Morning Folks, I need a long ride, so am I right in my understanding that the departure time is 9.05am CSS? Expected time of arrival back in Croydon?
