I know comedy is personal taste but I've always hated Davidson and think that Little Britain and Catherine Tate is very much 'emporers new clothes'. Have never got into Seinfeld either.

Stuff I like is Mighty Boosh, Nighty Night, Spaced, Big Train, Phoenix Nights, Peep Show and classics like Rising Damp and Porridge.

Rant over.

[quote="marco"]i know how much jim loves doing his bit for charity so I hope to see him in some pro-celebrity events soon

Just like Tarby and Brucie do pro celebrity golf with Woosnam et al I am going to write in to the BBC to see if they will set up a pro-celebrity boxing match with Jim Davidson and Lennox Lewis

Funnyman jim could then do some of his chalky 'jokes' between rounds to keep the crowd and lennox entertained!

I would give a lot of money to charity to see this!

 All together now - "nick-nick"

By the way, that's Woosie to you

Hope they make new series of these two (also Dark Place with Garth Marenghi). I've surely missed some Alan Partridge episodes too.

Saxondale and green wing are my recent faves.
I feel a bit snobby saying Davidson is sh*t but unfortunately that type of humour relies on sterotypes and ignorance.

Sid

There is no shame in exposing this for what it is - not to do so lends passive acceptance and tolerance of bigoted warped humour that relies on prejudice.

As we know from our daily experience on the road, the same prejudice is tranferred towards cyclists who are depicted by Clarkson and some of the popular press in ways that invite dangerous behaviour among a minority of other road users - so the parallels are there and it is all bad.

I like being in a cycle club that ranges its views as widely as this one does.

You might well laugh Marco, but have you thought of the consequences of Jim Davidson not being there to entertain Our Boys as they face the horrendous task of fighting pointless and unwinable wars in far flung countries against people that dont want them there ?

Still, perhaps Bernard Manning will step in with his brand of racist, women-hating,homo-phobic bigotory and give Our Boys the morale boost they need to teach these ungrateful natives a thing or two about whos in charge in . . . erm . . . . their country . . .

Looks like ' comic ' bigotry might now be consigned to the dustbin of history.
