Hillingdon 19/06/07 - Wet, Wet, Wet

Evenin' all!!

Just got in after racing at Hillingdon. The skies looked threatening on the way over but it actually brightened up while the youngsters raced.

I thought the poor-ish weather may have kept the numbers down to c.10 riders so I had a chance of a top-ten finish. No such luck! The field was c.25, the speed was slower than last week, 23.80 avg, and the heavens opened half a lap in. It seemed a bit more agressive this week and I had a few digs off the front and won the sprint for 13th place.....probably!

The ride home was slow, testament to the fact that I had worked a lot harder in the race this week. Got home soaked but with a smile on my face.

I'm guessing that CP was called off? It's a good feeling to know that, thanks to Hillingdon being a flat, straightforward course, I can still do a 'fast' training ride even in this weather.

Until next week, so long.....and, hey, be careful out there!

Evenin'

Good going Dave! I was wondering whether the flash-storm we got at Palace actually had hit Hillingdon or not.
