I get a bucket of warm soapy water and leave it to soak weighed down with something heavy to stop it floating :shock: :oops:

When they go white with salt, time to wash them!

Also the padding strips inside can become smelly buggers.

Padding inside is only held in with velcro. I take it out and chuck it in washing machine with my kit. For the straps (or you can also do it with the padding) shampoo works a treat. Wet it, shampoo it, rinse it. Leave everything clean and also nice and soft, conditioner is optional. :D

Can't believe some of you don't wash you helmets :roll: , the straps and padding must be solid and smelly with sweat.

i use DW40 on the hard, shiney bit of the helmet. and the straps i just scrub with a wet tissue to get the crusty white bits off.
