Dear fellow official Etapers,

As we all have to make our way to Greenwich Park on Saturday to sign in and get our numbers etc. do you fancy meeting up for a "CR" to London?

We could all meet up in Croydon, or arrange to collect enroute at various points. Probably ride up a fairly direct route with easier to arrange pick ups.

Once signed in and sampled some of the atmos of whatever they have up and running already in the park (if anything), we could then ride back via a more scenic route.

Obviously with the "Big One" the following day steady leg spinning would be order of the day, no rushing about and racing, and not a long ride.

Please post here if interested and I'll sort out a meeting point. Registration starts at 11am so probably meet up at 10am.

Thanks,

Andrew.

Why don't you ride with us? 6:00am at Beckenham roundabout for a very STEADY ride to Greenwich, so she can stay in bed before dragging herself out to pick you up later

Yes. Full ACC team kit. I'm still waiting for a decision from the management and early lift or I have the car all day. Riding to the start is an option but I have not suggested that yet. Question to those riding to the start; Do you carry a bag to put on the truck in order to have a change at the end.

Saturday 10am at East Croydon Station.

It's not a route I know well, but the AA point out via Lower Addiscombe Rd, Beckenham, then Lewisham and on to Greenwich - About 11miles.

Anybody has any better suggestions for a route, glad to hear them.

I'm a 6:30 starter on Sunday along with most of the other Addiscombe riders. I'm planning on joining Paul for the ride up (6am at Beckenham Cinema RAB) but not sure how long we should be at Greenwich before the start.

Organisation is so shambolic we've been told nothing about the actual day. I'm guessing that as your chip is on your bike so long as we roll over the timing mat we can get there close to start time and just set off. I don't want to get there any earlier just to hang about.

For the actual ride I'm hoping to just stay with the ACC massive for as long as possible, but expect this will split in to 2 or 3 groups. I doubt I can hang on to MrPVT's wheel all the way to Canterbury, I suspect you may be on a bit of a mission next week Paul having already recce'd the route.

[quote]And follow the OFFICIAL route through the west end to Greenwich meaning you have covered the same distance as the pros rather than a ten mile short route.

Done that.

The first 10 miles are neutralised anyway, so they'll be doing about 15mph  as a showcase to London.

Join us from Beckenham and you'll cover that anyway. 8)

6am at Beckenham Cinema roundabout on Sunday to ride up for event.
Paul - I'll have to ride past your house on Sunday anyway, any chance I can grab an armchair to Beckenham? 5:45 lurking outside your abode?

Depending on the weather ie no rain, I intend to join Pauls happy band, but plan to turn off at Tunbridge Wells and return home via Westerham
