it turns out the guy that crossed the line first in the e,1,2s got DQd. i think he deserved that. he pushed erick rowsell, who was in prime position to win, on to the grass and nearly into a big bollard which would have resulted in a nasty crash! very foul play!

well done Sylv! also Stu and Steve! Maybe I should change my name to something beginning with 'S' ? Anyway it was a nice sized field with no crashes? I felt quiet comfortable throughout the race and moved up near the finish but as said earlier in the last few laps we got mixed up with the E/1/2s and I think some lapped 3/4s so in the final lap the group was quiet big and confusing, then going up the hill on the last lap I got stuck behind some E/1/2s (had enough breath to ask Jon to move out of my way - which he did - thanks!) and by then it was too late.

I will have to try and get some points whilst there are still other ACCers in the 3/4ths before they all move up !

I saw first-hand the super speedy sprinters Steve & Stu on the club run on Saturday when they both jumped off my wheel to contest the Charlwood sprint. Very impressive.

My Dad raced at Palace a few times - in the 60s I think. In those days the circuit was a lap of the park, much longer hill to suffer up! It went down where the running track is now and finished in front of the steps (on your left that you go past as you go through the car park entrance).

Great spot Sylv, "The old 123" must have been a reference to a certain Addiscombe 123 coming up in the future. He must have had a crystal ball!

My Dad always talked about car racing at Crystal Palace. He said it was brilliant. By George he was right That is what I call proper car racing. None of this computer aided traction control, engine management system, paddle clutch mumbo jumbo. Pure seat of your pants, get the ar$e out round the corner type of racing
