I found the mp3 of Guns of Brixton performed on the Culture Show (which I missed  ) but have not listened to it yet. Will be interesting how it compares to the excellent but certainly different one by Nouvelle Vague.

Will look out for these on youtube

How's about this Sylv, remind you of home? With Regine in super-cute mode.

Also worth checking out their 2005 gig on fabchannel.com. Really good quality.

But even Regine can't compete with the cutest female lead ever. Those cheekbones, that sexy Scottish lilt, there is only one....Clare Grogan! She was the stuff of teenage fantasies and time hasn't dimmed the passion.....

That's a bit old for me Dave :-), but in pretty much every single review of Life Without Buildings's fantastic sole album I have read they have been compared to Altered Images (Scottish too, high-debit female vocals)

This is great as I have just found out they have a live album out. Check out some songs on http://www.myspace.com/lifewithoutbuildingsuk

So we are halfway through the year - time to see how far we've got ...

- get the 2nd Cat licence TICK :-)
- get a podium at the European singlespeed champs in South France TICK
- win a 3rd Cat road race TICK
- win a mtb race TICK
- survive a 12h TT Hmm maybe next year - or might do the night-time 12h mtb "Dusk till Dawn" in October
- bring bike+rider weight down to 65kg (one way or another ... ) Started well on weight front but have been putting weight back on. I have developped an annoying addiction to high-sugar, high-fat cerals (mini weetabix with chocolate, cranberry almond and yoghurt corn flakes, pecan and honey crunchy muesli ...
- do or plan for an epic touring trip had views on the Great Divide Race next year (it's on now: http://www.greatdividerace.com/) but might favour a USA road trip taking in all the best riding spots

1. Same as Sean, finish the Nove Colli (short route) alive. Well that went out the window thanks to coming down a very big hill sans bike, like to think I'd have done a reasonable time otherwise though. UK Sportive and Alps trip to make up for this.
2. Finish in the bunch, to then be competitive (gain some points) in RR. (Hillingdon to start with). No points, but have finished in the bunch quite comfortably at Chertsey and done some work during the race (flattish course). Hillingdon schmillingdon, went straight to Palace. Not done as many as I'd have liked partly due to the crash, but seemed to be getting better, no bunch finish yet though.
3. Race at least once at Palace, and not to embarrass myself. Hurrah a TICK, well I like to think I've done this one
4. 25:30 on a road bike on the Holmwood course. Getting there. 2 PBs on the course so far, 29 seconds knocked off last years best, but still 49 to go to get to this target.

All a bit pathetic next to Sylv and Stu really. :D
