Wanted - Jill for a steady Jack

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

So far the gruesome twosomes are:

Tamar & Mr PVT.
1st officer Carole H & Cap'n Snoop.
Christine & Nigel Costiff.
Maria David & little old me (thereby ruling myself out of the prizes by riding with a 2nd claim Jill).

Who else will throw their hats into the ring?
Jo & Ian?
Team Scarlett?
Or maybe defending champion Amy, with a choice of vacant Jacks.

Are we going to Pizza Express for post-ride pig-out?

Does anybody know if Geraldine is available for this. I know she was in an accident a while ago but hope she has been able to get back on the bike.

She was my Jill last year and we seemed fairly well matched speed-wise. I'm a bit quicker this year, but then the only shouts I got last year were to go quicker  , none to ease up. :?

I emailed Geraldine when I heard about her accident, but have no idea how she is now - I never heard back from her - maybe I had wrong email address.

Unfortunately Geraldine is still out of action.

She is able to walk, and does very gentle cycling, but her leg isn't strong enough to do time trials or club runs etc.
She is determined to get back riding though and is doing all her exercises, so hopefully we will see her back riding well, like she was before.

Jon, if we get a podium spot I think you should still take a prize as you will have done all the work !

Thanks Maria. Glad to hear that Geraldine is back cycling. It's a shame to be such a long road back, but it did sound nasty. Please wish her well next time you see her.
Thanks,
Andrew.

:( Its not looking very promising, I start the thread to find no takers yet, will I be on my Jack jones? To all the Jills out there I am a very considerate pacer, as Geraldine Glowinski will testify, and Jo, Ian Munnerys better half  , has no problems holding onto my wheel. So come on don`t be shy. After all its your time that counts, and I`ll do my best to help you achieve it. 8)

Have you asked Misses Robinson and Scarlett ? There must be other ladies that do the club runs too..... Otherwise there's always a chance for a bloke to "try something new" as that well known supermarket saying goes !

UPDATE:

Seven Jack n Jill teams have entered so far, plus about half a dozen solos. Any more up for it?

As always, we do need some helpers; 2 pushers for the start, and ideally a turn marshall.

[quote="marco"]I think I have made a bit of a big assumption here -
theoretically - the jill can pace the jack all the way around as well?

I do hope so...

True, but not a lot of point you being there then Marco as it is only Jill who is timed.

Who's your Jill Marco?
