2 Up TT - August.

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

2 Up TT - August.

Looking at the Surrey League calendar there are a couple of 2-up TTTs later in the year. Both 1:30pm starts so no early alarm calls.

4th August and 11th August - Both Staplefield course with a Handcross HQ. Does anyone know what this course is like? How many laps the TTT would be (13 miles a lap)?

Course:
From Staplefields proceed Southeast on B2114 Cuckfield Road/Hammer Hill/Holmsted Hill to Whitemans Green. Turn left (M) into the B2036 through Brook Street/London Road to junction with B2110. Turn left (M) into High Street/High Beeches Lane/Balcombe Lane direction Handcross. At mini roundabout (M) bear left into High Street, Handcross. At the end of the High Street bear left into Cuckfield Road (B2114) to Staplefields to complete the circuit.

Would anybody else be interested in entering a team or more in either of these? Could be either good fun or a chance to settle some friendly grudge matches. :D

I did one with Max last year and they are good fun. The course is pretty tough, quite hilly, one of the hills is pretty long and people look like they are dawdling up it. It is just under two laps of the course. Find someone who is reasonably similar ability to you and go for it, I think you will find it is quite good fun in that painful way that time trials have.

I have just got back from the 4 up and I do seem to remember only a few hours ago saying how I hate TTs and that I don't know why I do them, and now I am already thinking about getting Max along to do a couple of the 2 up ones. What is wrong with me.

Cheers

You're a bike racer. :D

Thanks for the info, I'd like to try one of them although hills aren't my speciality. Just got to find a like minded nutter now.
