Newbury RC 10 & 25

Postby SteveD » Mon Jul 02, 2007 12:46 pm

Just me again riding the Newbury RC Time Trial Weekend events this weekend.

Having spent several hours driving down from North Wales in heavy rain on the Saturday morning it was a relief to be greeted only by moderate winds and slightly damp roads for the 10 in the afternoon on the H10/1 Aldermaston course. I managed a reasonable 23:41 including a few seconds traffic induced delay.

Unfortunately the 25 on Sunday morning was a race too far. July 1st and cold, wet and very windy. My legs gave up after 11 or 12 miles, I lost the will to race and toured round to finish in 1:03:46 (poor even allowing for the conditions). Wore winter overshoes so I didn't have to throw my socks away this time.

Surely we must have a decent day soon ?!

Well done, Steve. Just entered the North Hants 10, and the South Bucks 25, so hope to see you there. Let us hope for some decent weather.
