'Kay, maybe I don't follow these things that closely, but this is news to me. In any case it's another rare chance to enjoy the quality journalism from that most august of organs. No prurient snickering here, oh no:

[quote]Miss York is now retired, and this week was busy in the garage repairing a motorbike. She refused to discuss her previous life.

In dungarees and with a shaven head no doubt.

And of course they had to mention the cost of the house otherwise their readers wouldn't see the point in the article.

Where do these so called journalists get off....

I imaging that Miss York has gone to great lengths to create a new life and move on, and the daily mail just cancel it all out in an instant !!

All I would say is. If you are of the fairer sex, don't enter an evening 10 around that area of sussex !!

Looking at the comments it would seem most online readers are being more liberal than you would expect from their paper counterparts?

I know - this is what struck me most about the whole thing.

Fair play to CW for making its position clear on this in the current issue.

Cant see the article but does it by any chance state that Robert Millar had a gender reasignment and is now a women, remember rumers about this in the 90ies? If so has the gaurdian removed it? Remember he used to write for procycling as well then disappeared! I used to train with one of his old rivials from Scotland a guy called Jamie who won the Milk race in the 8ies who had some good stories about him.

During training rides a few years back with the sadly departed Ibbo, Rober Millar was occasionally a topic of discussion. I could never work out whether being likened to him was a complement or a mikey-take. I'm still not sure.....
