..I think the article is correct in that it may work for some, even just as a mental stimulant.
personally I tried it and wouldn't go near it again...far to much of a shock to the system, give me a hot steaming shower anytime!

i tried cold baths a couple of times (not actual ice) and found it so unpleasant that stopping provided a kind of euphoria (kind of reminded me a bit of snorting vodka in this respect) ... wondered if could give ride to placebo effect.
